Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend, Francis Morales (24), against the wishes of their family members. Francis’s mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s life and expresses her feelings through violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite these contradictions, the young lovers begin a new, exciting life together. Their happiness is short-lived, but Francis is left physically and mentally scarred after an accident. He soon suffers from night terrors, muttering to Olivia’s invisible figure in his sleep and sleepwalking to strange corners of the house. These episodes terrify Olivia and also suggest that Francis is hiding something from her. Her investigation leads to a horrific and twisted discovery; The ghost of Francis’s childhood young minister haunts them, angry at the life they had together and coming to punish them for their sins.
